Picture
A play about economic transformation—the dreams it enables and those it crushes—the new work tells the story of the Li's, a family trying to enjoy their lakeside vacation but who find themselves surrounded by the gardeners, maids, and security guards who had once owned the land (not to mention the gods, ghosts, and unnamed spirits there for thousands of years before them).

People want to know what CAUGHT is about. So we created a guide. Watch, learn, and attend: https://t.co/7AFD10QHY1 #repcaught pic.twitter.com/6x2cn8Gu0o

— The Rep (@repstl) March 15, 2018
In the era of “fake news,” Caught creates a bracingly unique experience that will keep you wondering what’s real and what’s theatre. An art exhibition by a Chinese dissident is the first phase of a multi-layered puzzle, which presents the audience with an ever-changing set of rules. Chen’s piece deftly examines the blurred lines between truth and artifice, both in the theatre and in life.
